Rehabilitation
specialists at The Miriam Hospital work with orthopedic patients and
their doctors, sometimes after surgery, sometimes to prevent the need
for surgery.
Therapists help restore function in damaged joints, improve mobility, relieve pain and work to prevent or limit permanent disability. Whether or not you require surgery, experts in rehabilitation can play a major role in allowing you to live more comfortably and recover more fully.
In 2004, The Miriam Hospital opened its 6,000 square foot state-of-the-art Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at 195 Collyer Street near the hospital. Services here include pre- and post-orthopedic rehabilitation, hand therapy and splinting, repetitive motion injury and carpal tunnel syndrome treatment.
Patient satisfaction with the rehabilitation program at The Miriam Hospital has consistently been rated in the 99th percentile.
